What’s New on the 2024 Ford Mustang?

What’s New on the 2024 Ford Mustang?

You might have heard that the 2024 Ford Mustang has been reworked over last year’s model, and indeed, a number of changes have taken place. Here is a quick look at the new elements of Ford’s pony car for 2024.

A new dashboard

Perhaps the most important change for drivers in the new 2024 Ford Mustang is the arrival of a completely new dashboard that features more technology than ever before. Set behind a single pane of glass are a new 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.2-inch infotainment screen running the SYNC4 system. This makes it possible for drivers to customize the interior of their Mustang to fit their own personal preferences and moods. The infotainment system also includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa in order for occupants to stay connected while out on the road.

An increase in power

The 2024 Ford Mustang also benefits from a boost of power for its two available engines over the 2023 version. This means that the standard 2,3L EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder now delivers 315 horsepower while the available 5,0L V8 sees its output pushed all the way to 480 horsepower. This represents a respective increase of 5 and 30 horsepower, making the new Mustang more athletic than before irrespective of your engine choice. A new Dark Horse version will also be available, generating 500 horsepower from the same 8-cylinder engine. The four-cylinder will come exclusively with a 10-speed automatic transmission while the V8 will also be available with a six-speed manual.

A modernized classic

The 2024 Ford Mustang is decidedly modern, but it has not forgotten its roots as one of the world’s automotive icons. This means that while many changes have been made to the exterior design of both the coupe and the convertible this year, both are still instantly recognizable as a Mustang. Some of the most noticeable changes include a new grille inspired by the original 60’s model, three-module LED headlamps, and a shorter rear overhang that still features three vertical stripes for the taillamps.
