2023 Ford F-150: Impressive performance in every respect

2023 Ford F-150: Impressive performance in every respect

Over the past 50 years, the Ford F-150 has been the best-selling vehicle in North America, and therefore consumers have very high expectations when it comes to any new and improved F-150. In light of this, Ford faced a lot of pressure when it redesigned its popular F-150 pickup truck two years ago. Fortunately, Ford didn't change a winning formula. Rather than redesigning it from scratch, Ford spoke with owners to figure out what needed to be improved. The result is an F-150 that is just as capable and powerful as before, but it is also much more comfortable and technologically advanced than the old model.

The 2023 Ford F-150 comes in three versions, regular cab, SuperCab, and SuperCrew, and makes extensive use of aluminum, including an aluminum body. It is built on a fully-boxed steel frame and there are six powertrains available. All these engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic. There is a 3.3 L base V6 or a 5 litre V8, and there are two turbocharged V6 engines, 2.7 L and 3.5 L EcoBoost.

Moreover, the Ford F-150 brings a hybrid powertrain to the table for the first time. An EcoBoost 3.5L V6 with a 10-speed automatic is paired with a 35kW electric motor powered by a 1.5kWh lithium-ion battery. As well as delivering remarkable performance, this engine can tow an impressive amount of weight. Thanks to an onboard charger with 7.2 kW, it can also be used on the job site to charge tools.

The interior of the new Ford F-150 has been refined quite a bit as well with this new generation. There is an available digital instrument cluster, an integrated worktable in the center console, and a 12-inch center touchscreen that is available.
